Key Lesson: Guy Finley’s

Commentary on
the Murder at Wal-Mart

Click here or press the play button

Hello Friends:

Many of you may know, and some of you may not know, that on Black Friday a man who was 6ft 5  inches tall, who was an employee at a Wal-Mart in New York, got trampled to death by 2000 people who cared more about getting “a deal” on something they were buying in the store…who cared more about saving Money and getting an object that THEY WANTED, than they cared about a human being (or all the human beings that were impacted). There were more than one person who were trampled on that day…1 man died.

I heard a woman who got trampled, interviewed on a radio show the day after it all happened, and she said that the people knocked the doors down before they had a chance to open the doors. I do not know about you, but what I do know, is that I find it horrific that this type of thing happens in our modern day. I received this audio commentary from Guy Finley on “The Murder at Wal-Mart” topic today and I felt his message so compelling that I wanted to post it on my blog to forward it. A HUGE SHIFT IN HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS needs to happen…still.  A huge shift needs to happen about our human mentality about the Holiday Season and what each holiday, whether it is Christmas, Hanukah, or Kwanza is supposed to be about.

I hope you can join me in that shift, by TAKING THE TIME (20 minutes) to listen to Guy Finley’s profound message on “The Murder at Wal-Mart.” There is a reason why that man died…let’s honor him in the lesson that might be learned from his death. Let’s start with ourselves to create that human shift within our being to create the ripple effect for the obvious shift that needs to happen.

I included a link below, just in case the link on the top of the page does not work.

Career Changers: are you tapping into who you really are?

Thursday, November 29th, 2007
“Every object, every being,
is a jar full of delight.
Be a connoisseur.”
 Rumi
As we humans search for meaning in our careers and our lives the main choice we have to make is on whether we are expressing ourselves authenically in the world. The quote from Rumi about every being is a “jar of delight” is profound. The problem that usually happens when people are not happy in their careers is they are not able to be their authentic delightful selves at their job. They are too busy making a liveing vs. making a life for themselves. Desiring a career change or being unfulfilled at work is a huge sign that a soul awakening is about to happen, IF you allow the shIFt in your perspective to take place.
So, IF you are one of these people who is deperately seeking a career change, it is time for you to turn inward and ask some questions that can create ShIFt Soulyoutions TM in your life and your career change!
Here are five ShIFt Assist TM Coaching questions:
1. Who am I?
2. How am I happiest expressing WHO I AM in the world?
3. What is stopping me from radiating my delight in my fullest self-expression?
4. What unique gifts do I possess that I am not using?
5. How do I shine in my magnificence?
These are deep questions that may require some time alone to just be with yourself. I suggest that you take time with these. Perhaps take a jacuzzi or a bath and ponder these questions. Or meditate on them in silence and see or feel what answers come to you.
IF you take the time to shIFt from being unfulfilled to figuring out what it is you need to do to feel delight, miracles can happen!
Blessings in your career shIFts,

Career Change: Your Soul is calling you…

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

Are you feeling like you are living in the rat race in the business world, on that perpetual wheel, running, running and running and you feel like you are going nowhere and just getting burnt out?

Are you feeling exhausted or depressed? You know that things just are not working out the way you had hoped in your career? You know deep in your soul that you need a career change, but do not yet how, what is next for you?

Well, IF these are feelings that you are dealing with, it is time to evaluate and shIFt what you must next, to create a career change for you!

Have you ever thought that your soul is calling you to do something that fulfills IT? Do you know that you are a beautiful spiritual being having a human experience… and that your soul came here to Earth to do something wonderful? C’mon it’s true, really it is!

We all have some special talents and gifts that we are able to shine at and IF you would just allow your gifts to shine through you, you may feel a whole lot better. Are you using these gifts you possess?

These gifts show up as things you would sometimes “rather be doing” (than work). Sometimes they show up as hobbies or extra-curricular activities. Sometimes they are ways you may like to show up as a volunteer.

Are you gifted in writing, speaking, some form of art, healing or technical things?

What jazzes you? What do you have so much fun doing that it makes your soul sing?

Some people just love being with children and are happiest when they can interact with children, and make a difference in the life of a child. If you are one of those people, are you doing anything that gets you around children?

Here are some ShIFt Assist Coaching tips:

1. Look back at your history and write down everything you have ever done. Try to remember what things brought you the most joy.

2. Write down what you are drawn to doing. Do you have something you wish you could do, but have never tried?

3. Write down people you admire who do things you wish you could do. They could be celebrities or they could be people in your life that you know.

Do you understand what I am getting at? We all have things that move us at a soul-level, but sometimes when we get into our jobs or careers, we do not even think about paying attention to what moves our soul. We are more concerned with how much money we can get for doing a particular task someone could hire us to do. Or we are trying to please our parents or someone else by working in a career that they wanted us to work in.

What IF you came from an understanding and belief of “IF you do what you love, the money will follow?” Try that one on. Could you believe in that?

Well, I am here to let you know that IF you pay attention to your soul calling you to make a career change, you really could stop feeling depressed, burnt out and exhausted. That is one way out of that misery.

Doesn’t it make sense to put yourself in a work situation where you are experiencing joy doing something that fulfills you at a soul level?

It makes sense to me. I am writing this, because I have been in that miserable place in my career. I call it being “knee deep in shIFt” TM. It is a place where I experienced a “soul awakening” at the time. Then when I came to understand that I was not in a career that fulfilled my soul, I created a drastic career change and left the old one behind. I was making a 6-figure income in the old career too.

All in all, it is about you feeling that you are worth it. You deserve to work in a career where you are using your gifts.

Believe in yourself! Take action today on that career change. Your soul is calling you! I call this experiece ShIFt Soulyoutions TM. You need to as the IF questions to ShIFt YOU at a soul level to create the solutions in your career and ulitmately your life. Only YOU can do it!

IF you need help in your career shIFts, hire a coach to help you. That is what a  most coaches soul’s calling is. Life and Career Coaches are all about supporting and guiding people to believe in themselves enough, to take the appropriate action, in order to create life shIFts to enhance their lives and fulfill their dreams.

Blessings in your career change and life shIFts,

Change is in the Air…Happy Halloween!

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Here we are at one of the most “magical” times of year in the Northern Hemisphere. The time in the ancient times that was called “The Harvest Time” or “Samhain” (which means summer’s end in Celtic) In the modern time that we live, it is “Halloween” time which gradually leads us into “Thanksgiving” in the United States.

Based on ancient beliefs, it is the time where all the people gathered their harvest of food and danced around the bon fires up on hills, in celebration and thanksgiving for all that they had reaped that year. The fire was significant because it was thought that the people could burn their miseries from the precious year in the fire to transcend their pain.

They also felt it was the time where the veil between the Earthly Realm and the Spirit Realm was the ‘thinnest’ and that their ‘deceased’ ancestors could come to visit in their ’spirit forms’. So, they baked cakes and sweets and left them out for their ancestors who have passed to the “other side of the veil.” On the last days of the Harvest, they would put the treats outside at their door steps to put the spirits in a good mood, so they would not be mischievous and scare everyone, when they came to visit. That is where the “trick or treat” concept came from.

Just as in the ancient times, it is in modern times, where it is the time of year when the weather begins to change, the nights get darker sooner, and people spend more time inside, because winter is approaching.

This a powerful time to reflect on all that you have reaped this past year, which you can call your Harvest. It is a great time of year to start your real focus on your ‘attitude of gratitude.’ It is also a time to evaluate all that no longer serves you, like certain relationships, attitudes and behaviors. After evaluating them, decide which ones need to be released and let them go.

Yes, change is in the AIR…so it is a great time for SHIFT in your personal and professional life. It is the perfect time to evaluate both aspects of your life.

Here is an exercise in the Spirit of Halloween and the Harvest to create ShIFt Soulyoutions TM in your life:

1. Write down all that you are thankful for that happened in your life this year.

2. Write down all that no longer serves you: attitudes, behaviors, relationships…getting rid of clutter at this time is always good too!

3. Create a fire in a fireplace, fire pit, a grill, or a clay pot outside and on Halloween, burn the list and release it with an “Attitude of Gratitude” in your heart.

Then…watch the “magic” happen in your life! I have recommended this Halloween Ritual to many and I have received reports of miracles happening, as a result.

You will experience great SHIFTS!

Happy Harvest, Halloween and Samhain,

Career Change or ShIFt~7 Tips for Survival

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

What do you do when you are dealing with a Career Change or ShIFt?

Let’s look at some possible IF’s in your shIFts:

IF you have been downsized? IF you have lost your job due to a company merger? IF you are feeling misery and complacency in a career lacking in passion?

YOU ARE KNEE DEEP IN SHIFT TM… in your career!

Sometimes, we just get “signs” from God, Spirit, the Universe, whatever you want to call IT. We know it is time to move on in our career, but we feel stuck. We need the money. We do not have the energy to update our resume and do a job search. We are exhausted already!

When these feelings are very prevalent in your life, it is time for a Career Change or ShIFt. IF you do not take action when you are feeling these feelings, you may all of a sudden experience a job loss, unexpectedly.

Based on the Law of Attraction, what you put out, comes back to you. So, IF you are thinking that you need a break from work and you are fantasizing about leaving your job. IF you do not take action to voluntarily do something about it, then the action may just happen to you!

What do you do, IF all of a sudden you are hit with a job loss, a downsize or a blatant firing… or maybe you just walk out and quit?

Here are 7 Intial Tips for Career Change Survival:

Tip 1. Although it is very difficult to do, try really hard not to get into the ‘blame game’ and become a victim. That puts you into a very dis-empowered state.

Tip 2. Do something that you have been wanting to do for a long time, that you did not have the time, or did not take the time to do. Something that brings you joy and uplifts your spirit.

Tip 3. While it is important to allow yourelf to feel your feelings around what happened, do your best not to wallow in them. Look at the bright side, you have a new journey ahead of you. Even though you may experience a lot of fear and anxiety around your Career ShIFt, trust that it happened for a reason, a “higher purpose” is waiting for you. Believe in that!

Tip 4. Write down things in a journal or on a piece of paper that you know you do well. Take an inventory of some stories in your last job or other jobs of ‘how good/talented you were’ in certain situations. Focus on your gifts and talents. We all have a few things that we shine at, what are yours?

Tip 5. Do some extreme self-care to help yourself heal. If you have some extra money, go to a spa and get a few treatments. A massage, body wrap or facial can put you into a “heavenly state” and relieve a lot of stress.

Tip 6. Depending on your financial situation you can take a real break or you may need to get that resume updated and brush up on your job hunting skills. The book, What Color is Your Parachute by Richard Nelson Bolles is a wonderful book you can buy or get at the Library that can bring you many insights into your next area(s) of Career ShIFt.

Tip 7. Hang with people who really care about you. If you are really down, ask them to help you figure out what some of your gifts and talents are. Sometimes we need to be uplifted by others who look at us with loving eyes vs. listening to our own self- recriminations!

What is most important, is to not crawl up in bed, under the covers and wallow in your misery. It is human nature to want to do that, and you may do it for a little while. But, do not allow yourself to do it for very long. It will keep you stuck and not able to move forward. Force yourself to get up and get out!

You have special talents and gifts that you were given to bring to the world. IF you have not used them at your fullest potential, the time is now. It is time for your Career ShIFt to give you the opportunity to shine in your magnificance! Yes, we all embody magnificence. It is up to you to find the gIFt(s) in your shIFt and move on to bigger and better things!

Believe you can and you will!

All the best in your Career Change or ShIFts,

It’s Summer… Body ShIFt Assist Coaching

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Today is Summer Solstice and it marks the first day of Summer, here in the Northern Hemsiphere!

It is the time of year, when people tend to wear less clothing due to the heat of the summer. Being a resident of Arizona, I can honestly attest to that fact! ( Although we have summer weather many months of the year!)

So… “Body Image Issues” can really show up in the summer months. The process of searching for new bathing suits, can really takes its toll on a person (especially women) and we can decide once and for all we MUST DO SOMETHING  TO SHIFT OUR BODY AND OUR HEALTH!

So, here are some Body ShIFt Assist Coaching Tips:

1. Find a partner who you can be accountable to and work out together. Also use eachother as support counselors and perhaps you can create a “healthy competitive spirit” with eachother!!!

2. Get on the scale and take your bodily measurements. Then put the scale in a hard to get to spot and do not get on it for 1 month at a time. Take your measurements more frequently if you like, since they are a better indication of body shifts than the scale. There are too many people who get obsessed with the scale and it can really upset them if their weight fluctuates with water wieght throughout the day or week.

3. IF you are really overweight and out of shape, it is imperative that you get a Complete Physical and maybe even a Stress Test by a Physician or Trained Clinician. After you are given the ‘Go Ahead’ from a clinician, start out slowly with your exercise 10-15 minutes per day and gradually build it up over time,to a minimum of 45 minutes per day. You burn more fat IF you exercise at your Target Heart Rate Zone for more than 35 minutes. You can also exercise twice per day for faster results.

4. Drink lots of good spring water or reverse osmosis water. A minimum of 8-10 8oz glasses per day. Water helps flush your system of all toxins and aids in weight loss. It also hydrates your body, which makes you feel a lot better!

5. Eliminate unhealthy foods that do not have much nutritional value from your cabinets. Also try not to eat or drink too many products with alternative sweetners like Splenda/Sucrilose and Nutrisweet. Studies have shown they are Neurotoxins to your brain and highly addictive substances that can create very negative side effects.

6. Keep a Journal of your food and fluid intake each day, to see where your problem areas are. Be honest with yourself. IF you notice you have food addictions to sweets and carbs, maybe you need to shIFt that and seek counseling or go to a local weight loss center where they can help you figure out why you reach for these foods to feel better. A lot of this type of behavior is deep-seated.

7. Avoid alcoholic beverages when you are trying to lose weight. Alcohol dehydrates the body and makes your liver work overtime to get rid of the toxins from the alcohol. You liver is one of the main organs that helps your body emulsify fats, so you need it to be free and clear of toxins. Also, your body metabolizes differently when alcohol is consumed. There is no nutritional value to alcohol. (It is also helpful to avoid caffeinated beverages, since caffeine is a diuretic that dehydrates your body too.)

One of my favorite books that I have experienced great success with, in my own body shIFts and clients’ body shIFts from time to time is: The Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gittleman. She really teaches you how to turn your body into a fat burning machine in a very healthy way! I highly recommend it!

Let’s see IF you can take a look at these ShIFt Assist Coaching tips listed above, and take action to help improve your body this summer and manifest these shIFts to improve not just your Fitness Level and Weight Loss, but also improve your Total Body Health to enhance your life.

IF you shIft and accomplish these things I mentioned, you may feel less stressed, you may lose weight/body fat and fit into smaller clothes, you may have more energy and feel a whole lot better!

Good luck shIFting your body and your health and enjoy your summer while you are doing it!
